Slow loading on Home page

Hi,

We have an issue with slow homepage loading time. The page is optimized but it still takes over 6 seconds to load. Problem occures in first three seconds, in that time nothing happenes, and then after that it starts loading assets. We believe it has something to do with themes backend. We used Pingdom for testing. Is there anything you could do to help us with this issue?
