Menu fade out timing on currency drop down and other menu's

I am noticing on all menus that when you hover over a menu item (ie: currency changer), the drop down appears and then if you mouse out the menu dissapears visibly, but if you hver your mouse where the menu was, it opens up again. Even though the menu cant be seen, it hasnt been cleared and it shows again if i mouse anywhere near where the drop down was. Is there a way to adjust the fade in and fade out of the menus?
