Hi,
I’ve been using the Gecko theme for many years, but I still have the old color swatch plugin (OpenSwatch) despite the theme updates. How to switch to the new plugin used ? Is it possible without losing the configuration of all the already existing products? Please find below URL and credentials of the staging site to take a look.

Hi Ludimal,
Please deactivate plugin Open Swatch and install new WooCommerce Variation Swatch.
Btw, your support expired. Please renew your support at https://themeforest.net/downloads
Thank and regards
Harry

Hi Harry,
Thank you for your quick reply.
I have already renewed the support (2021/08/11), on purpose for this problem.
I tried using another plugin before contacting you (including Woocomerce Variation Swatch), but how do I keep the information for old products? It looks like the paid version of this plugin is required (included in the Gecko theme now?).
Why doesn’t the theme automatically switch to the new plugin when I update it, and how do I do it without losing anything? -

Hi,
I’m sorry because inconvenience.
You still keep the information for old product if your product has only size just go to Products > Attributes and Change Size from Select to Label http://janstudio.net/claue/document/#create-attributes
Kind regards

Unfortunately, it’s a webstore of clothes and shooes with lot of attributes for variable products : european size, american size, color, shoe size, the patterns of the fabric, etc… So it’s not an acceptable solution for us to lose this information, especially since there are more than 2500 products…

I’m sorry we change plugin 3 years ago.
If you use global attribute you don’t have to do more
Please follow the video at http://janstudio.net/claue/document/#create-product-color-swatches for each product

Hi Harry,
I didn’t have time until today to work on this project.
I watched your videos, but it did’nt solve my problem :1/ in the first video, when I look at the attributes, the possible types are “Choice / Text color / Image / Button”. I haven’t the “Color” option.
2/ when I follow the process shown in the second video, the “swatch variation” tab is not available. I have just links towards some video to buy the premium version of the plugin (see screenshot attached).
As a reminder, I first deactived OpenSwatch (the old plugin) then installed and activated Variation Swatches for Woocommerce.
I guess the change between these 2 plugins is old, but I had no way of knowing it, since I was doing the theme updates and everything was working fine. It was only when I started having some issues n the website that I looked for the origin of the problem. But today, almost nothing works and it’s essential to recover the Color Swatch function, while preserving the color/photos associations on the old products.
I hope you could help us !

Hi,
The plugin we said is WooCommerce Variation Swatch from WP Addon and not Variation Swatches for WooCommerce from Emran Ahmed
I help you create sample product at https://staging.lafeelouise.fr/produit/produit-color-swatch/
And you need go to Products > Attributes > Colour > Configure terms > and edit each color https://tppr.me/WIk52
Kind regards

Thanks for your update and your help. Unfortunately, it sill doesn’t work :/
I tried with some old variable products : I’ve edited the colors and defined the color code. But when I watch the products, the Gallery for each color is lost (see https://staging.lafeelouise.fr/produit/sandale-talon-hamida/), only the “global” product gallery is preserved.
Could you confirm me that the color gallery should be preserved for variable products with the attribute “color”, when I switch from the old to the new plugin ?I would like to try on a fresh staging install (I tried some others plugins on this installation to resolve this issue, so I want to eliminate an issu due to other plugin).
How can I download the plugin WooCommerce Variation Swatch from WP Addon ?
I didn’t find it in the wordpress repository, and when I follow the link toward plugin author/website in the back-office, I’m redirected to the author on CodeCanyon, with only two products available : https://codecanyon.net/user/wpaddon/portfolioThanks

Hi,
I’m sorry the gallery for each color can’t work. You have to upload images for each gallery color again.
To download plugin, please go to Appearance > Install plugins and install it.
Kind regards
Harry

Ok, it was my question from the beginning, maybe I was’nt clear. With 2500 products, we need to switch plugin whitout losing information. Uploading thousand of images again is not an option…
So I understanD that the theme is unusable for us now and that I have to find another solution :/
