Auto crop thumbnail images

Hello, is it possible to crop thumbnail images permanently so that the site doesn’t load the original pictures as a thumbnail but their smaller versions proportionally cropped? Is there some kind of a plugin for that?

Hi,

By default woocommerce support this feature. You can set the image dimension in WooCommerce > Settings > Product > Display > Product Images.

You can setup the dimension for catalog image, single product image, thumbnail image have dimension same ratio and smaller than original image.

With new upload images they will get the size you config, with old images you have to generate thumbnail in Dashboard > Tools > Regenerate Thumbnail

Hi, thanks for your reply. What I’m trying to figure out is this. In your demo the thumbnails are 370X472 both the original one and flipped. When I check the page code it shows that the original size of those pictures is 370X472, so it is not cropped to that size. I can’t figure out how you managed to do that as even if I upload the featured image of that size the flipped thumbnail will be just a cropped version of the next picture in the gallery. I can’t see any options to add a separate flipped image. I would like to set up my pictures in the same way as it is in your demo as it works super fast and I just can’t figure out how you set it up like that.

Sorry we miss your message.

The flipp image is the first image on gallery. So you can upload the first image on gallery same dimension with featured image
