Blog Listing

Hi Harry,

I just realized when I change the blog listing in the theme dashboard two both excerpt or content there is no difference!

In the blog listing in both modes, I have to user Read more in the text to cut the post for blog listing.

However, when I change the blog listing to the excerpt, I should see what I have added in the excerpt field in the creating post.

Am I right?

Hi Rahim,

If you set show excerpt the blog will get blog excerpt first. If the excerpt empty it will get first paragraph of content.

Our code default still work well http://prntscr.com/nlloh3, please check your custom code.

Hi Harry,

This is the reason that I made this topic.

There is no different behavior between choosing content or excerpt in the theme settings.

In both ways the content will be printed in the blog page, and the only tool that you can stop the content printing, is using the more button in editor.

If you don’t use it, the whole content will be printed, not even the first paragraph.

Please check this on your local.

I am talking about the single post of blog, not the blog listing.

Just realized your screenshot.

I think you should reduce this space by default in the theme.

1. If you don’t add “Read More” to content it print content with limited characters not all the content http://prntscr.com/nlskyp

2. Please add below code to Custom CSS

Hi dear Harry,

As you see in this photo, the red border is one article without any Read More.

As you see, the whole article is printed in the blog page. I have chosen the content in theme settings.

I don’t know why this is happening on my site not your end!

Did you check excerpt? excerpt is not working at all even when I choose it in the theme setting and add words to the excerpt field in the edit post!

Hi Rahim,

If you choose content it will print all content. You have to change setting to show excerpt.

If you select content you have to add “Read More”.

On my local it still work well this post without readmore and without excerpt http://prntscr.com/nlzn8s and theme setting is “excerpt”

When I sent you this screenshot, the setting was set to excerpt 🙁

Why do you think is this happening?

And As I told you when I add sentences in the excerpt field, nothing happens and in both ways, I see what I have added before Read More. 🙁

I just want to know did you check adding an excerpt and test you see what you have added?

As your screenshot I see you setting blog display as content.

Please go to Claue > Theme Option > Blog > Content Dislay > Excerpt http://prntscr.com/nm1tkp

And you add your excerpt in excerpt field of single blog post http://prntscr.com/nm1vvg

I have done this exactly as you sent via screenshot.

But the text that I add to excerpt, is not shown in the blog page!

Can you please add some sentences to your excerpt? something different from your first paragraph and check?

I did like this:

theme setting: choose excerpt

in the single blog post add test,test,test,test,test,test,test,test,test,test,test,test,test to excerpt field.

my single blog post has a first paragraph and after that, I add Read More

But in the blog page, now I should see test,test,test,test,test,test,test,test,test,test,test,test,test but I see the first paragraph!

This is so easy but not happening on my side!

Please check your setting in Theme Option > Blog.

And check your blog page in Pages > Blog. Do not use PageBuilder Element, just blank page and set blog page in Settings > Reading.
