June 11, 2019 at 6:43 am #31729Hi, I need some help with updating my theme. I’m not sure what is the best practice for updating the theme? I asked to change the search function before and you recommended I swapped to the Child theme. The child theme is now active on my site. However, I have made quite a few changes to some of the code. I have removed the menu and replaced it with another plugin and made quite a few css changes etc. How do I update the theme without overwriting all of the information? I have the Gecko Child theme as active and the Gecko theme installed but not active on my site.

June 11, 2019 at 7:58 pm #31750So don’t delete Gecko Child theme? Just activate a random different theme? Delete the Gecko theme and reinstall Gecko, then reactivate the Gecko Child theme?

June 11, 2019 at 8:07 pm #31751Yes, don’t delete gecko-child because it contain your code. If you delete it your code will be remove. Just active random theme, delete gecko and install new package of gecko and active gecko-child. I recommend use plugin Envato Market to update that will easy for you in next time. Kind regards Harry

June 11, 2019 at 8:24 pm #31752I’ve done that now but it’s lost all of the sidebar content within the store? I’ve tried to reassign them within the customize page but they won’t display?
