      I want to show the image caption in the product detail view, how do I do this?

      Hi,

      Sorry for late reply.

      On new version of WooCommerce 3.0.x they change the way to display caption of image on product detail lightbox. We are finding solution and improve in our theme soon.

      Okay, and if I want to show the caption underneath the product detail lightbox, how does that work?

      Yes, we will implement caption under image on light box.

      No I mean that I need it now. The site has to go live in a week.

      I’m sorry WooCommere don’t support show caption like your screen shot.

      In past WooCommerce support show caption below image when open in light box

      On new version WooCommerce 3.0.x they change this function, we finding the way to make it appear again.

      Ah okay, where can I find the code of the selected product image? The selected picture of the gallery.

      Can you tell me the path? I assume it is’nt the one in:  plugins/woocommerce/templates/single-product/product-image.php

      Hi,

      The code for the selected product image is plugins/woocommerce/templates/single-product/product-image.php

      If you want edit this we recommend copy file to path gecko-child > /woocommerce/single-product/product-image.php.

      Now WooCommerce move the caption to js file

      https://github.com/woocommerce/woocommerce/issues/14218.

      It hard to control like code in /woocommerce/templates/single-product/product-image.php like prev version 2.6.x

      And there is no possible way to at some text to the short description of the product that’s connected with the image? So I can link the selected image to the text. I only have to show the color code of the product, that’s manually filled in.

      Which JS file do I need to look for? What I see is that they can put the description in a title on hover, so it’s possible to tweak that function in a way to show the description under the image in fullscreen?

      You can find js code in WooCommerce > Assets > js > PhotoSwipe > photoswipe-ui-default.js.

      Is there a way to show any attribute of the selected image? I don’t care if it’s the description, alt text, caption or title. I just NEED to show a variable linked to the image entered in the backend of the wordpress.
