Layout issue with blogs – Excerpt

Hi guys, when I am trying to create the following layouts, the excerpt option for the blogs does not seem to work. It only seems to work when the sidebar layouts are selected.

I would like the posts to be in two columns and only show excerpts…

To be honest I would LOVE an option where i could have no except and no continue reading button and only the photos with the black title box. Will be nice 🙂

I think i was able to do this with

.post-content { display: none;}

but it took off the homepage as well, which I would like to keep. How can I contain this to just the category pages and not to affect the homepage ?

My main issue still with this is that the function to show only excerpt should reduce the loading time, as although the content is now hidden, it is still affecting loading time. Can you suggest how to fix this and not affect loading ?

Hi,

1. You can add custom code to hide excerpt on blog, category page.

.blog .post-content, .archive .post-content { display: none;}

2. You mean only load excerpt text don’t load the image?

Sorry I was not clear and asking many things at the same time…

In my original question, I wanted to just show the excerpts and continue reading button in the layout as shown in the photos. The issue was, despite having excerpt selected in Claue options with this layout, the whole content was showing instead of excerpt ?

I also wanted to know if possible to have three columns instead of two ?

The title of the blog category is also not showing on the page?
