Pop up translation

Hi,

I’m using WPML translation plugin to translate a multilingual site, however I am having trouble finding the correct string to translate the two buttons in the “Your Order / proceed to checkout” pop up. The button “Continue Shopping” and “Proceed to Checkout” won’t translate. Could you point me towards the correct string this might be? Or a way I can have these translate to Norwegian?

Please try translate again, this issue because the .pot file on your site outdated. I help you update the file by go to WPML > Theme and plugin Localization and select theme and scan

Hi,

Thanks so much I didn’t realise I needed to update these there was around 800 missing!
I followed your instructions above and then re-did the strings and it helped.

The translations do appear on the pop ups now but only when I hard refresh the page several times after switching the language. Is there a way to make them appear once I’ve switched the language from English to Norwegian first go?

I tried this and unfortunately it doesn’t help.

It seems there is error whereby the theme mini-cart defaults to the english version.
See the attached screenshot of the error message.

Please update all plugins to new version and if issue still there, please deactivate plugin one by one and check again.

Hi,

We are still having issues with the pop up cart. We tried the above and it didn’t help.
It is not any of the plugins it is definitely the theme.

This function jas_claue_get_popup_cart() has translatable strings translated to Norwegian.
So it should display the Norwegian text when this function is run.
It seems not to be the case. For some reason English is always the language being returned when adding items to cart.

It seems to have something to do with the ajax call.
https://det.maksimer.es/6DHv90 not passing in a language code.
So the ajax call does not inform that there is a language it should show instead it defaults to English.

I really need a fix for this issue as we are launching this week.

Not sure why on your site it not work. Are you using a cloud cdn cache? Please tr clear cache and try contact to WPML team for support

We already tried clearing the cache, it did not help.

As mentioned earlier it is a multilingual site, not just a straight translation.

Have already talked to WPML they are saying it is to do with the theme and the ajax call.
The English is always the language being returned when adding items to cart no matter what the current site language is.
So the theme ajax call does not inform that there is a language it should show instead it defaults to English.

I see the products the first created in Norwegian and after that you create translate product in English, please try backup your site and reinstall plugin WPML.

Hi,

I tried changing the site default language in WPML to Norwegian on our staging site and it didn’t change the text on the pop up for me? Did you do anything else to make the Norwegian text come up on the pop up?

Also did you then get the english text to appear on the pop up when the site is in english (after changing the site default to Norwegian) I need the right language to appear on the pop up according to the language selected.

A simple solution would be turning off the add to cart pop up. However I tried switching the “Add to cart behavior” from “Popup included upsell products” to “Slide sidebar” (as the languages on these display correctly) but then whatever products are not in a language that is not the default site language won’t add to the cart! Which is even worse.

I don’t mind about the products being removed from the cart when the language is changed.
I just need one of the add to cart functions to work properly and display the correct language according to what language is selected.

It now i check on live site when i change default language to Norwegian it work with first time not work every time.

When i deactivate plugin CMP – Coming Soon & Maintenance Plugin and plugin Force Login and change setting add to cart behavior to Slide Sidebar the text work on staging

i see WPML has issue with more other related to ajax https://wpml.org/forums/topic/wrong-language-in-ajax-call/

Hi,

Yes for the default language the “Slide Sidebar” works (which is now Norwegian) on the staging site.

Even if I deactivate those plugins as suggested, the English language does not add to cart with the “Slide Sidebar” activated. It does however if the “Popup included upsell products” add to cart function is activated. However the Norwegian language does not show on the pop up if this type of cart is activated.

Could you please check the above. Nothing has been solved and whatever language isn’t the default will not add to cart using the “Slide Sidebar”. The “Popup included upsell products” does not work in Norwegian. Need one of these to work so I can launch the website.

Can you please provide a solution.

I’m sorry because late reply.

I found the issue because WPML support team edit the file of our theme and forgot to remove the code thay added.

Please download attach file extract and replace in wp-content > themes > claue > core > libraries > janstudio > hooks or delete current theme on your site and reinstall

Thanks for your reply. This seemed to have helped.

The Slide sidebar cart works now, still can’t get the languages to work on the pop up cart but at least the other one works now.
