Speed Optimizing Help

Hi Harry,

I have a question.

When I test my website in the GTMetrix.com , I see some images in the ” Serve Scaled Images ” that say to me for example :

” https://look.ir/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/Menu2.jpg is resized in HTML or CSS from 500×667 to 140×187. Serving a scaled image could save 127.6KiB (92% reduction). ”

So for doing the optimizing I should reduce the size of the photo to 140×187

But the problem is when I reduce the size, I lose the quality!

What is difference between reducing via css and photoshop?

Because the results say you should change the size, but after changing the size I lose the quality and in some cases the file has more size!

Hi Rahim,

You can change product image size in Appearance > Customize > WooCommerce > Product Image.

When you change image’s size, the qulity of image will lose, please keep the size of image = 1.5 or 2 size require to keep quality while still reduce size images.

These images that gtmetrix is talikg about them are not product’s image.

You mean 2 times larger for width and height than what the gtmetrix say?

Any way,
What is the your recomended size for products image?

Hi Rahim,

1. With small image we recommend use 1.5 to 2 times large than gtmetrix, but big image we not recommend.

2. For product image on catalog page we recommend size (170 x 222)px

1- At page speed tab, I only need some images optimization.

Could you please check the results and tell me do I need to optimize these or just leave it?

2- When I want to resize an image for optimizing which one is better?

Resize it via wordpress edit tools or resize it via photoshop and upload it again?

Hi Rahim,

No, the .js files minify and generate by plugin. If you replace the plugin will create new. And it doesn’t help.
