Strange picture size in the catalog page

Hello Harry my friend and all the team member at JanStudio,

I would like to ask about the strange issue with the picture size on the catalog page that I am facing on Claue theme.

Well, at first, everything is OK there is no problem at all.

However, this week, when I started adding some more new products, I found that the size of the pictures on the catalog page is very weird now.

Like this captured picture, you will see that the text in the highlighted area is higher than the others. But, every picture has the same size of 600 X 857 pixel. So, it’s really weird.

 

This captured picture may help you understand the problem easier. You’ll see that there are 2 pictures that overlapped while I mouse over it. The picture with black background is the newly edited picture that I just added into an existing product and it’s the product image (First image). And the picture with white background is the picture I added few months ago and it’s the first picture in the product gallery.

You will see that the white background picture was displayed at the same level as the pictures in the left and right. But, the black background picture which I just added has more length when the actual size of these 2 pictures is the same which is 600 X 857 pixel.

 

You can see that the length of the bottom is different. And the text of the product title is not at the same level too.

 

But, on top, everything is OK.

 

This problem happened with every picture that I just added. But, the pictures I added previously are still perfect aligned.

 

Now, I already tried

1. Change the size in Woocommerce > Product > Display
2. Use Regenerate Thumbnails plugin

But, nothing work.

So, could you please tell me how to fix the problem.

I found that you told a person who had similar problem as mine to

Please go to Appearance > Customize > WooCommerce > Product Image and change your setting

After that go to Tools > Regenerate thumbnail.

However, I can’t see WOOCOMMERCE in Appearance > Customize > too.

How’s that?

Hi k17jan,

Please update WooCommerce to newer version to have option at Appearance > Customize > WooCommerce > Product Images. You also have to update theme to newer version to compatible with new version of WooCommerce. http://support.janstudio.net/forums/topic/updating-the-theme/ Please update WordPress too.

If you keep current version. Please go to WooCommerce > Settings > Product > Display > Product Image Size and change dimension and after that go to Tools > Regenerate Thumbnail.

I already tried this

But it didn’t solve the issue yet. So, I guess I have to update WC and theme, right?

Can you please tell me what is the cause of this issue? Why it happened out of nowhere?

Hi,

I think the issue cause by your images don’t have same dimension ratio if you don’t check and hard-crop the image only resize width to same dimension and keep ratio so height of all images not same.

Hello Harry,

Every image has the same dimension of 600 X 857 pixel. So, it’s surely not the problem of dimension here. But I can’t think of other possible cause at all.

I change dimension of catalog image to same ratio with main image ratio and regenerate. It now ok.

Hi,

I go to WooCommerce > Settings > Products > Display > Product Images

Change dimension of Product Catalog Images to 370:528 it same ratio with 600:857

After that I go to Tools > Regenerate Thumbnail

Hi,

The temporary admin account don’t create any new content so you can delete all or you choose Attribute all content to current admin.

Hi,

please go to Dashboard > Media > Search these of these products and try regenerate one by one to save time. Don’t have to regenerate all images

Did you use these images for blog post? It has config for blog post image size in Settings > Media
