SUPER SLOW running Gecko Theme – Server Requirments?

I’m in the process of building out a new web store and using the GECKO template for the first time. As I’m adding products I’m noticing the website is super slow. This has been happening from the first day I started working on the website.

I contacted my host at Godaddy, they asked me to ask: “What are the minimum server requirements?”

What I want to know is, what server requirements are needed for my website to run fast and smooth.

I’m at Starbuck now on Google Fiber and if I go to my website http://www.firebornyoga.com it takes at least 5 seconds to load the homepage. If I click on products it takes at least 5 seconds to open product.

When I go to the GECKO template examples the examples run fast and smooth. http://janstudio.net/gecko/fashion/home-fashion-2/

Please help.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi,

1. We use VPS server from https://www.vultr.com/pricing/ with $10/month.

2. You also need to upgrade PHP and MySQL version to meet requirements of WooCommerce.

You can check your server info at Dashboard >  WooCommerce > System Status.

3. You can try this plugin to setup cache for your site https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-super-cache/
