1. By default our theme have option for you can display your shop as catalog mode in JanStudio > Theme Option > WooCommerce > General Setting > Enable Catalog Mode > On

2. If you still want use portfolio for homepage you can change config or column wrap portfolio like screen shot

I’m sorry WooCommere don’t support show caption like your screen shot.

In past WooCommerce support show caption below image when open in light box

On new version WooCommerce 3.0.x they change this function, we finding the way to make it appear again.

On new version of WooCommerce 3.0.x they change the way to display caption of image on product detail lightbox. We are finding solution and improve in our theme soon.

I checked your site and saw this issue because your image smaller than content.

The width of image should be bigger than 570px, you image is 500px.
