Concerning the mini cart I think you should change that behavior since the mini cart only updates when you actually add or remove an item but not with a page reload. That might be confusing for a customer who forgot to change the currency before adding the item to the cart. Please consider fixing this so that the mini cart updates as soon as the currency is changed!
