Currency exchange rate

Hi Harry 🙂

I tried adding $ (dollar) as a new currency and I pressed update rate but no new exchange rate got downloaded. It is 1 which is manual and wrong and I was expecting an update from a real time source?

Therefore, my questions:

1. Does this feature auto-update the exchange rate on pressing update rates? If not, what is the purpose of the update rate button?

2. What is the source of this exchange rate? (Website?)

 

3. Does this affect checkout currency? Eg: If customer selects dollar, does stripe accept price in dollars?

3.1 Will it affect currency in invoice emails , pdf invoice and other related places like reports etc ?

4. Is IP auto detection for currency option there?

Hi ArtK,

1. It now have issue with multi currencies so it can’t update rate. You have to manual input the rate

2. We get source from Yahoo Finance

3. Yes, when user choose $ on front end the check out, the stripe will show in dollar

4. It will show currency user choose in invoice

5. Yes, it will auto detect IP to show currency.

Excellent theme feature for sure. Do you know when will the issue be fixed? Problem with yahoo finance ? Yahoo as a Company no longer exists. Just the brand name 😉

I’m not sure when issue fix but we will try to fix it soon.

Yahoo finance still alive https://finance.yahoo.com/ (not all yahoo no longer exist).
